I’ve always enjoyed spending time by bodies of water – the ocean, lakes, even rivers. There is something about the sound and movement of the water that I find so soothing. It is both predictable and reliable; although the water recedes, the waves always bring it back to cascade over my toes as I stand at the water’s edge feeling the smooth sand under my feet. Add in a beautiful property right on the water, quality time with loved ones, and plenty of water sports and board games to keep you entertained, and you’ve got just about the perfect set-up. I spent a long weekend with my now fiancé (his proposal being another five star moment of my summer!) and his family at a house on Ossipee Lake in New Hampshire and it completely “filled my cup”. While that particular phrase may be overused, this trip was genuinely rejuvenating for my mind, body, and spirit. We enjoyed every moment: the company, going for rides on the jetski, going tubing and paddleboarding, sitting around a campfire, winning a cornhole tournament, and watching the sunset beyond the mountains over the lake.
I give Ossipee Lake five stars.
